ADULT LITERACY PROGRAMS

We are dedicated to helping immigrants with limited English language proficiency who would benefit from ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes by guiding them through self-sufficiency. Gaining English literacy skills helps people obtain and maintain employment and citizenship, further their civic engagement, and for parents, become full partners in the educational development of their children.

We offer classes at various skill levels during both the day and evening to accommodate community members’ differing schedules. These classes are offered at sites in low-income immigrant communities (in partnership with the neighborhood’s local community-based organizations) throughout New York City to ensure we reach a wide diversity of those in need.

Over the past few years, we have provided adult literacy instruction at over 45 sites throughout New York City.

We would like to thank our adult literacy program funders, New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD).
