JCCGCI’S 2025 YEAR IN REVIEW: IMPACT, GROWTH, AND COMMUNITY CARE

As we reflect on the past year, one thing is abundantly clear: 2025 was a year of impact, growth, and meaningful service across every corner of our work. The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI) is proud to share that our 2025 Highlights of Accomplishments are officially here—capturing a powerful snapshot of the lives touched, communities strengthened, and systems improved through our programs citywide.
Across Brooklyn and beyond, JCCGCI delivered comprehensive human and social services to thousands of individuals through our core pillars of Older Adult Services (including our Holocaust Survivor Support services), Educational Services, Career Services, Community Services, and our NonProfit HelpDesk. From supporting frail older adults and Holocaust survivors with life-sustaining care, to equipping young people with tools for resilience and success, to strengthening nonprofit organizations through capacity-building and technical assistance, our work continues to meet people where they are—and walk with them forward.

This year alone, JCCGCI provided over 1.9 million units of service to more than 3,000 Holocaust survivors, ensuring dignity, connection, and care through homecare, transportation, case management, meals, and social programs. Our Older Adults division delivered hundreds of thousands of meals, transportation rides, and supportive touchpoints to older adults across southern Brooklyn, helping them remain healthy, independent, and connected.
Our Educational Services reached students at critical moments, delivering after-school programming, violence prevention initiatives, college and career readiness, and summer enrichment opportunities—resulting in measurable outcomes such as a 100% graduation rate among high-risk students served through Horizons Academy. Meanwhile, our Career Services supported thousands of individuals with culturally responsive employment assistance, job placement, career counseling, and skill-building opportunities that lead to long-term stability. This work resulted in hundreds of successful job placements and career advancements in 2025, including the milestone achievement of over 900 job placements through JCCGCI’s Parnossah Employment Services Program alone.

JCCGCI’s Community Services also continued to expand access to care, safety, and stabilization. From trauma-informed mental health counseling and violence prevention services, to wraparound supports at our Urban Neighborhood Services multi-service center, our teams addressed urgent needs with compassion, professionalism, and accountability. At our Urban Neighborhood Services (UNS) multi-service center, JCCGCI delivered 7,031 diverse social service sessions, serving 2,017 Coney Island residents. At the same time, our NonProfit HelpDesk strengthened the broader nonprofit ecosystem by providing training and technical assistance to more than 1,500 nonprofit professionals, helping organizations across all five boroughs operate more effectively and sustainably.
We invite you to take a closer look at the full scope of what we accomplished together this year.

These achievements represent far more than numbers. They reflect the dedication of our staff, the trust of our communities, and the power of partnership. Every service delivered, every milestone reached, and every life supported is the result of collaboration between committed professionals, generous funders, public partners, and community stakeholders who believe in the importance of accessible, high-quality human services.
As we look ahead, we do so with gratitude and resolve. We are deeply thankful to our funders, government partners, foundations, and individual supporters who make this work possible, and to our staff whose dedication brings JCCGCI’s mission to life every day. Together, we will continue taking human and social services to greater heights year after year.
