In the shadow of global challenges, Holocaust Survivors often feel the weight of history most deeply. Their memories, courage, and resilience remind us that the Jewish story is one of survival- and of song. On Tuesday afternoon, that spirit came alive at Ateres Golda, where JCCGCI joined Nachas Health and Maimonides for a Rosh Hashana partnership concert that filled the room with music and hope.
More than 70 Holocaust Survivors came together for an afternoon unlike any other. They were greeted with warmth, care, and dignity- and soon, the sounds of live music filled the room. Shloime Dachs lifted spirits with powerful melodies, while Rabbi Goldwasser offered words of inspiration that reached every heart. Richie Taylor honored Survivors with certificates of recognition, paying tribute to their strength and legacy. From dancing to clapping along to classic Jewish songs, the atmosphere was one of pure celebration.
Adding to the sense of honor and joy was a beautifully prepared three-course meal. Guests enjoyed appetizers, perfectly cooked salmon, and a sweet finish of ice cream and cake.
This was more than a concert— it was a declaration: We are still here. We are still singing. The event embodied the resilience of the Jewish people and the promise that even in difficult times, joy and community will always have a place.
We are proud to have partnered with Nachas Health and Maimonides to bring this event to life, and we are deeply grateful to the Claims Conference, whose ongoing support makes it possible for us to honor, uplift, and celebrate Survivors in meaningful ways. Together, we turned what could have been just another Tuesday into a day of courage, connection, and unforgettable joy.
