We are proud, delighted and excited to announce the appointment of Jill Mendelson, MPA who joins JCCGCI as the new Director of our NonProfit HelpDesk division, which provides Capacity Building & Technical Assistance services to NYC’s Nonprofits, citywide, since 1992 (see: https://www.nphd.org).

Jill Mendelson, MPA is a distinguished, renowned and results-oriented, resourceful leader with a commitment to nonprofit excellence.

She comes to JCCGCI as a highly respected and accomplished and well-known professional with a vast array of capacity building and nonprofit management experience.

For 36 years, Jill Mendelson served as a valued and trusted high-level staff member of UJA-Federation New York. As her role evolved at UJA-Federation, Jill served as Director of UJA-Federation’s acclaimed Management Assistance Program (MAP) and in time rose within the organization to become the Deputy Managing Director of the Network Department.

UJA-Federation’s Management Assistance Program (MAP) made business talent available to its beneficiary agencies. During her lengthy tenure, Jill established and led capacity building initiatives in critical areas such as strategic planning, governance, fiscal management, fundraising, technology infrastructure, human resources, digital communications, and more.

By working closely with nonprofit clients, Jill assessed agency needs and provided invaluable expertise and strategies to enhance resources to enable nonprofits to raise their standards of service and management and to equip them to expand and perform at a higher level.

She and her team regularly designed and managed major conferences that addressed topics relevant both to funders and non-profit providers. In this process Jill developed a network of highly skilled professionals to support non-profits with special projects on a pro bono basis.

Among her many other contributions to UJA, Jill headed a fundraising division that raised $250,000 annually. She established the Executive for a Day program, providing major donors an insider’s view of nonprofits that encouraged additive giving. Jill also stewarded major gifts and worked closely with a multi-generational family to establish a prize in social enterprise.

Jill earned her Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from CUNY Baruch College with a concentration in Nonprofit Management, and earned a certification in Not for Profit Management from Colombia University.

With a diverse expertise and decades of success in capacity building and nonprofit management, we look forward to Jill’s tremendous impact in enhancing JCCGCI’s NPHD division and in building the capacity of our nonprofit clients.

Jill Mendelson, MPA can be reached at j.mendelson@jccgci.org and at 718-449-5000 ext. 2240.

Please join us in welcoming Jill Mendelson, MPA, and in wishing her much success in her new role!
