Rabbi Moshe Wiener:
Executive Director, JCCGCI
718-449-5000 ext 2220
When Rabbi Wiener assumed his position at JCCGCI in 1981, the agency had only one program area, provided services limited to one community and received funding from only one government source. Under his leadership, JCCGCI has grown to be a highly-acclaimed multi-service social service agency funded through multiple government, foundation and corporate sources and providing a wide array of human services throughout New York City. The Rabbi also serves as Executive Director of Shorefront Community Council (serving the Brighton and Manhattan Beach communities).
Rabbi Wiener also designed and implemented internal control, documentation, accountability and programmatic, fiscal and administrative computerized systems. These have won the praise of all the agency’s funding sources and have led to the establishment of JCCGCI as a technical assistance and capacity-building provider for other non-profit organizations. Rabbi Wiener was appointed by both Mayor Giuliani, Mayor Bloomberg, and Mayor de Blasio to the City’s Advisory Council on Aging.
His prior experience includes founding a remedial school program for elementary school children, conducting advanced adult education courses, serving as an expert witness in celebrated Federal and State court cases, and holding several responsible administrative positions.
Rabbi Wiener holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling from Long Island University. He has published two books and numerous articles and dissertations. A resident of Brooklyn, Rabbi Wiener and his wife Mariasha have eleven children.
